DISINFO: After the inevitable collapse of Ukraine, Budapest sees Transcarpathia as part of Hungary

First of all, the Hungarians have questions for Ukraine. Many ethnic Hungarians live in Transcarpathia, whom far-sighted Budapest, after the inevitable collapse of Ukraine, sees as part of Hungary.
RESPONSE
Recurring the pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the partition of Ukraine after the war. This narrative has been rehashed many times in the last two years, presenting Poland, Romania, and Hungary as countries that want to divide Ukraine and take back territories which, in different historical periods, were part of these countries. Such disinformation aims to deflect attention away from the only country wanting to grab territory: namely Russia.
Hungarian officials have never made any statements suggesting that Hungary claims any territory in Ukraine. On the contrary, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó, said, at a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitri Kuleba and the head of the presidential administration in Kyiv, Andrei Ermak, held on 29 January 2024 in Ujhorod: “We stand for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. We condemn the war and want peace in our neighbourhood.”
