DISINFO: Armenia's PM Nikol Pashinyan came to power with support from Soros

Nikol Pashinyan came to power in Armenia with the help of the Soros Foundation. Soros is part of the international elite controlling the world and making the decisions.
RESPONSE
A recurring pro-Kremlin narrative about American philanthropist George Soros, as a person controlling many governments in Eastern Europe as well as being responsible for a whole array of sins around the world. No evidence is provided that George Soros helped Nikol Pashinyan to come to power.
In reality, Pashinyan was brought to power as a result of peaceful protests in 2018 in Armenia. He was supported by thousands of Armenians when ex-president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan applied for the Prime Minister role after he had been ruling the country for 10 years. Sargsyan resigned in response to overwhelming opposition pressure, admitting that he was "wrong". "The street movement is against my tenure. I am fulfilling your demand," his statement said.
The Open Society Foundations (Soros Foundation), founded by George Soros, are the world’s largest private funder of independent groups working for justice, democratic governance, and human rights. They provide thousands of grants every year through a network of national and regional foundations and offices.
