DISINFO: Bill Gates said that the next epidemic will be smallpox

SUMMARY

There is information that samples of the smallpox virus were secretly transported to the Kharkiv laboratory in special containers. American microbiologists were able to create a unique structure from the genome of the smallpox virus, which can disguise itself as the coronavirus. American businessman Bill Gates recently said that the next epidemic will be smallpox, which causes 90% of deaths.

RESPONSE

Recurrent pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives targeting Bill Gates and the conspiracy theory on secret elites ruling the world and attempting to achieve a New World Order through population control.

The article does not present any supporting evidence, but only presents these accusations based on unidentified “intelligence”, and tries to build a false link between the variola virus and the regular disinformation target, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, who did not warn of a smallpox attack. He simply said there was a need to prepare for the next pandemic, which could happen from a bioterror attack, using a smallpox attack at airports as one example.

It's worth noting that claims about US biolabs aiming to spread infectious diseases are a part of a years-long disinformation campaign led by the Kremlin. In fact, biological laboratories are involved in preventing the risks of complex diseases and, together with other similar projects, counteracting bioterrorism.

Read related cases that claim that biological weapons are being developed in American laboratories; that the Pentagon develops ethnic biological weapons in post-Soviet republics; that Microsoft will implant humans with microchips; or that The US is building biolaboratories on Russian borders.
