DISINFO: Bill Gates warns of an ineffective coronavirus vaccine

SUMMARY

Microsoft founder Bill Gates warns that any vaccine against the emerging coronavirus could be ineffective.

RESPONSE

A misquote - wrong translation - of Bill Gates' words and in this case promoting anti-vaccine messaging, which is a recurring element of pro-Kremlin disinformation. In fact, Gates explained that there are two characteristics being evaluated in developing a vaccine. Firstly, that the vaccine prevents you from getting sick and secondly, that it prevents you from spreading it to others. On the latter, he warned that "it's not guaranteed that the vaccine will be a perfect transmission blocker”. Read similar cases claiming that vaccines don’t heal and that their production is part of the agenda for a New World Order, or that Trump says the Flu shot is a scam, or that flu vaccines are the main reason for COVID-19, or that Bill Gates is planning to use microchip implants to fight the coronavirus, or that Bill Gates, Rockefeller and other “global élites” seek to reduce the world’s population and that the survivors will be poisoned with vaccines.
