SUMMARY
If anyone previously had any doubts about Josep Borrell's passion for war, then any doubts were dispelled by the appearance in the EU of the Peace Fund, the purpose of which is to provide all types of equipment and infrastructure to the armed forces of EU partners.

The European Peace Facility (EPF) expands the EU’s ability to provide security for its citizens and its partners. Since 2021 the EPF serves as a unified financing mechanism for the EU’s military and defence actions, with Member States contributing to the fund in addition to their contributions to the general EU Budget. Between 2022 and 2024, the EU mobilised €11.1 billion under the European Peace Facility to support the Ukrainian armed forces to counter Russian aggression. The agreed assistance measures under the European Peace Facility finance the provision of lethal and non-lethal military equipment and supplies, such as personal protective equipment, first aid kits, fuel, ammunition and missiles. All these measures are urgently needed for Ukraine to withstand the Russian army and preserve a democratic, independent state.
Dozens of democratic countries around the world supports Ukraine with military and financial aid for the country’s efficient self-defence, in accordance with the UN Charter Article 51, to stop Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.
