DISINFO: Borrell's “six-point” proposal is aimed at destabilisation Russia
SUMMARY
The EU leadership is apparently infected with some abnormal political virus as it decided to isolate itself from Russia. This situation is manifested in Joseph Borrell’s “six points”, presenting the new European approach towards Russia, aimed at the destabilisation of the domestic situation in Russia, clearing the European information field from alternative viewpoints, keeping the Western Balkans in the EU sphere of influence, transferring the rivalry with Moscow to the post-Soviet space, imposing Western-centric “rules” and “isolating” Russia. The isolation of Russia has become the EU’s “idea fixation”, which will be futile and extremely expensive for the European countries and their citizens, who will have to pay for the strategic mistakes of their politicians from their own pockets.

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative attempting to put the responsibility for the state of EU-Russian relations on Brussels, alleging that the EU is destroying them and ignoring the reasons behind the sanctions: Russia's unprovoked agression against Ukraine in violation of international law.
The claim that the EU policy on Russia is aimed at the destabilisation of the domestic situation in Russia is ungrounded.
The EU’s approach to Russia is guided by five principles agreed upon in 2016 and reaffirmed, most recently, in June 2021.
Currently, there is a discussion within the EU on adding a new principle -“Isolating Russia internationally, imposing and implementing restrictive measures against Russia and preventing their circumvention”. This step is a reaction to the unprecedented large-scale Russian military attack on Ukraine unleashed in February 2022. The EU’s goal is to ensure Russian accountability for its aggressive international actions.
