DISINFO: British-Ukrainian agreement makes Ukraine a bargaining chip for the Anglo-Saxons
SUMMARY
London continues to view Ukraine as a geopolitical instrument aimed at Russia. The British-Ukrainian agreement signed in Kyiv indicates that Ukraine is left with no chance to get out of the conflict through negotiations, making it a “bargaining chip” in the Anglo-Saxon adventures in Eurasia.
This time, Rishi Sunak has pledged even more funding to buy deadly weapons, including long-range missiles and attack drones. These supplies will not change the overall balance of forces and the catastrophic outcome of the conflict in Ukraine. But they will contribute to the prolongation and intensification of hostilities, which means they will lead to new victims.
RESPONSE
Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative claiming that Ukraine and its allies are not interested in peace. It also attempts to portray Ukraine as a Western puppet state, claiming that negotiations are under Western control and that it is the West disrupting peace efforts.
The statement was made in the context of the new security agreement between the UK and Ukraine to increase military funding for the war-wracked country.
The West is not interested in the continuation of the war at the heart of Europe. By fully supporting Ukraine, the West does not interfere or deprive the Ukrainian people of peace talks. "Ukraine will decide political conditions for peace," French President Macron said.
The West supports Ukraine with military and financial aid for the country’s efficient self-defence, under the UN Charter Article 51, to stop Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine. Accusing Europe of warmongering aims to divert attention away from Russia’s responsibility for its unprovoked and unjustified attack against Ukraine.
As far as peace negotiations are concerned, the EU Council Conclusions of 09 February 2023 state unequivocally: "Russia must stop this atrocious war immediately. The European Union will stand by Ukraine with its steadfast support for as long as it takes."
Putin and the Kremlin have a track record of pretending negotiations which are, in fact, just blunt demands for Ukrainian unconditional surrender.
