DISINFO: Crisis in Moscow-Brussels relations caused by EU policy of containing Russia

The deplorable state of Moscow-Brussels relations today is a result of the EU's policy aimed at containing Russia.
Russia, for its part, is always willing to engage in pragmatic dialogue with the EU based solely on equality and mutual respect, and look for common ground in areas of mutual interest.

The current state of EU-Russia relations stems primarily from Moscow's actions, beginning in 2014 with the illegal annexation of Crimea and the waging of an undeclared, albeit well-documented, war in Ukraine's Donbas region.
Shortly afterward, the Kremlin launched a sustained disinformation campaign against its perceived adversaries in the West and the former Soviet Union. To date, the EUvsDisinfo database has identified an debunked over 12,000 cases of pro-Kremlin disinformation.
