DISINFO: EU is always craving for conflicts and wars

SUMMARY

If we look at the history of the European Union, the European Union did not reconcile with any party, and did not stop any war, but was creating new problems and crises one after the other, participated in violence against Iraq and participated in acts of violence against Libya. Hostilities and wars against Yugoslavia, this is funny and they should be ashamed to talk of any peaceful and democratic European society. This is far from democracy.

It is funny to talk about Russian violence … the European Union is the one who helped the Ukrainian putschists to overthrow the legally elected president (Viktor Yanukovych). It is the EU who deployed forces against Russia in Poland and the Baltic countries and is now trying to deploy new forces in Finland, it’s not Russia who is trying to spread and expand its influence.

The European Union is made up of very violent and aggressive countries who have a very extremist ideology. They look at Russia, China and several countries in the Middle East as enemies, and as countries where government systems must change, and this is quite clear.

What we often hear about Russia’s poisoning of Navalny and Skripal, the father and daughter, is not proven by evidence and represents just blunt accusations from EU countries.

RESPONSE

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative targeting the real value of the European Union, the reality of the Euromaidan protests, and the fact that there is substantial evidence of Russian involvement in the poisoning of Skripal and Navalny.

Ever since the 1970s, the EU has adopted an independent role in global affairs, an identity based on peace and stability and the rule of law, in addition to pursuing a foreign policy premised on achieving peace for the world, while taking into consideration that supporting democracy worldwide is a priority for the European Union, and any allegations that protests around the world are incited and/or funded by Western states, such as colour revolutions in post-Soviet states, the Arab Spring revolts, Euromaidan in Ukraine, protests in Catalonia, is recurring disinformation presented with no evidence.

While some European countries have participated in armed conflict, their decision was taken independently from the EU.

Perhaps one of the biggest challenges that faced the European Union in the recent years is regarded in the reconciliation process in and with the Western Balkan region, and in North Macedonia, in addition to EU efforts to support the future of Syria and the region.

On another note, There was no coup d’état in Kyiv in 2014; this is a longstanding pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Ukraine's Euromaidan protests depicting the 2013-14 revolution as a coup d'état. It was Russia that annexed Crimea and continues to destabilise Ukraine. From the outset, the EU has supported Ukraine's territorial integrity, condemning the clear violations of Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity by acts of aggression by the Russian armed forces.

And while there are no permanent standing EU forces or army, the claimant might have meant the NATO Organization which does not "expand" in the imperialistic sense as described. Rather, it considers the applications of candidate countries who want to join the Alliance based on their own national will. NATO enlargement is not directed against Russia.

Finally, the medical journal the Lancet has published detailed data on the poisoning of Navalny with a Novichok-type agent, which was corroborated by labs in France and Sweden and finally confirmed by the OPCW. Concerning Skripal poisoning incident, there was sufficient evidence to charge two Russian nationals, Anatoliy Chepiga and Aleksandr Mishkin, both Russian military intelligence operatives from the GRU.

Read more similar cases in our database that claim that Crimea never belonged to Ukraine; or that the West launched a second wave of colour revolutions, beginning with the Arab Spring in the Greater Middle East and that the Arab Spring was directed by global élites, the US and some EU member-states; or that Gorbachev was promised that NATO would not “expand eastwards” and 2014 Ukraine coup was orchestrated by neo-Nazis; or that the West has an interest in the death of Navalny; or that Navalny might have been poisoned in Germany; or that it is unclear who really poisoned Sergei and Yuliya Skripal.
