DISINFO: Europe supports the revival of fascism

SUMMARY

In Europe and in the post-Soviet space, the ideological struggle continues around the results of the Second World War. The cannibalistic philosophy of fascism-Nazism, being defeated in 1945, managed to preserve its disputes, which are sprouting with poisonous shoots now.

The reviving fascists in the Baltic countries, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova are trying to take political revenge for May 1945. They find support in today’s Europe, where they are encouraged in every possible way in trying to bring the Wehrmacht and the Red Army to a common denominator.

RESPONSE

Recurring pro-Kremlin narrative attempting to link the Baltic countries, Moldova, Belarus and Ukraine with Nazism, Fascism, aimed at discrediting the EU / West as a whole. The accusation of Nazism is a popular propaganda technique used by pro-Kremlin outlets. Read more: Nazi east, Nazi west, Nazi over the cuckoo's nest.

This message is part of the Kremlin’s policy of historical revisionism in order to “get rid of its share of the blame for the outbreak of WWII”. It is also an attempt to erode the disastrous historical role of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact.

The Nazi ideology and the EU are based on opposite values and principles. The European Parliament resolution on the importance of European remembrance for the future of Europe stressed the fact that WWII was an immediate result of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. The resolution is aimed at the promotion of historical remembrance about WWII and the condemnation of totalitarian ideologies.

The signing of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact was a mutual decision of two regimes (Nazi Germany and the Stalinist USSR) aimed at the division of Eastern and Central Europe between these two powers. It is a fact that the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact contained the Secret Supplementary Protocol, which assumed the division of Poland and other Eastern European countries between the USSR and Germany.

Read similar examples of Russian historical revisionism concerning this issue such as the shift of all blame for WWII outbreak at the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact the best example of manipulation of history, the USSR is not to blame for the beginning of World War II, the USSR was not an aggressor in World War 2, To assign equal responsibility for the outbreak of WWII to Nazi Germany and the USSR is falsification, Europe is becoming Nazi again, Baltic states openly glorify Nazism, and the EU continues aggressive policies of Nazi Germany.
