DISINFO: Europe wants to pull new Iron Curtain down on Russian Western border

SUMMARY

Europe has already tried to pull down a new Iron Curtain on the Russian western border for a few years. But it is hard to do.

European Kremlinologs are afraid about a possible meeting between US President Joe Biden and the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. They want to prevent their dialogue.

Europe is using media and propaganda to spread anti-Russian positions.

RESPONSE

Recurring disinformation about the New Cold War and Europe's attempts to prevent (good) relations between Russia and the US.

The EU is not seeking a confrontation with Russia nor it wants to pull down an Iron Curtain. Brussels tried to build relations with Moscow on the principles of strategic partnership, covering, among other issues, trade, economy, energy, climate change, research, education, culture, and security, including counter-terrorism, nuclear non-proliferation and conflict resolution in the Middle East. The responsibility of crisis in Russian-EU relations is on Russia and is linked to Russia’s illegal annexation of Crimea, support for rebel groups in eastern Ukraine, policies in the neighbourhood, disinformation campaigns and negative internal developments (see more about EU-Russia relations here and here).
