DISINFO: European countries pressure Ukraine for genocidal mobilization
SUMMARY
In May 2026, Zelenskyy met Starmer, Macron, and other war sponsors. They conditioned futher support of Ukraine with lowering the mobilization age to 18 years. Yet the US is not interested in another genocide's stage and a military escalation in Europe, because it is currently prioritising Iran.
RESPONSE
This is a recurrent misuse of the word 'genocide' to deflect attention from the Kremlin’s genocidal project and project it on Ukraine and European countries. It is consistent with recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Ukraine’s alleged desperation in the battlefield, part of a wider FIMI activities to promote the idea of the inevitability of Russia’s victory and ultimately the need to compromise and accept Russia’s terms.
International partners assist Ukraine to defend itself from unlawful Russia's war of aggression, in accordance with international law. There is no proof that European countries condition support to lowering mobilisation age from 25 to 18 years. Pavlo Palisa, Deputy Head of the Ukraine President's Office, stated in May 2026 that lowering the mobilisation age is currently not being reviewed by the Ukrainian authorities. Generally, mobilising young men to defend their country cannot be considered genocide. Even if a significant number of soldiers are injured or killed, the responsibility lies fully with the aggressor country, not the defender. Read earlier disinformation cases alleging that the US committing genocide against Ukraine by pushing for mobilisation at 18 years, that total mobilisation of kids, elderly, and women in Ukraine is coming, that Ukrainian mobilisation is genocide against Russian-speaking population, that Ukraine is preparing a total mobilisation of women, pensioners, as well as sends teenagers to the front.
