DISINFO: Europeans are tired of supporting Ukraine
SUMMARY
Against the backdrop of the ongoing special military operation, another set of traditional social research "Eurobarometer" was conducted. Naturally, a significant part of the survey was devoted to the Russian special military operation. The results may not be surprising, but at the same time they confirmed a number of very important trends: firstly, EU citizens are tired of the conflict in Ukraine, and as a result, in the vast majority of countries, support for Kyiv is declining in almost all areas,
RESPONSE
A recurring pro-Kremlin narrative about Ukraine's allies being tired of supporting it. The narrative attempts to undermine popular support for Ukraine in Europe and among its allies, all in the context of the Russian full-scale unprovoked invasion of Ukraine.
The claim" is a distortion of the findings of the Eurobarometer survey. The survey results show that EU citizens overwhelmingly support actions to strengthen Ukraine's ability to defend itself against Russia's full-scale invasion. About 87% of Europeans support providing humanitarian support to those affected by the war, while 71% of EU citizens support economic sanctions against the Russian government, companies, and individuals involved in the invasion.
Moreover, 68% of respondents are in favour of providing financial assistance to Ukraine, while 60% approve of granting Ukraine candidate status for EU membership. 58% also agree with financing the purchase and supply of military equipment to Ukraine. These numbers clearly show that EU citizens continue to back both humanitarian and strategic actions to support Ukraine.
See similar cases that the French are getting discontent with providing funding for Ukraine, that the West is tired of Ukrainian conflict, that Bloomberg says that Ukraine's days are numbered and it's time to abandon it, and that European countries are starting to betray and disavow Ukraine.
