Liberal-democratic Western societies have institutionalised pluralism, which means the peaceful coexistence of different religions, world-views, and value systems within the same society. The same applies to the art and freedom of expression.
The system of national juries was introduced to balance the public vote and ensure a fair competition. The rules apply to all participating countries equally. Eurovision is organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), which is a consortium of public service broadcasters, not a political entity. The EBU is not a political power in Europe.
It should be noted that on 24 February 2022, Russia was suspended from participating in the contest due to the invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine. On 26 May 2022, Russia was excluded from the EBU, making further participation and broadcasting of the contest impossible.
