DISINFO: Russia developed the first COVID vaccine, thus Russia's assessment of Navalny's health is correct

SUMMARY

Russia has provided its French counterparts at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with all the information on the data it had concerning Navalny case. Russia made four cooperation proposals to Germany asking them for the information that was available to them. Russia’s analysis and testing departments are very competent. It is no coincidence that Sputnik V, the first vaccine against Covid, was created in Russia.

Can you imagine that Russia sends Mr. Navalny to Germany without doing all the necessary analyses and without being sure that he was not poisoned by military substances in Russia? And suddenly, as if by a wave of a magic wand, or rather straight out of a hat, we learn from Germany that he has been poisoned by a military substance. Well, in the West we don’t know any other name than Novichok, but we have all witnessed the spectacle of Salisbury. There were agents in cosmonaut gear disinfecting the whole town. While Navalny was on a plane with over a hundred passengers on board and no one got sick. He was staying in a hotel where no one got sick either, just like in the hospital where he was subsequently admitted.

Russia has also requested data from the OPCW. In addition, an OPCW mission received a proposal to visit Russia. So far it still hasn’t been able to pack its bags.

RESPONSE

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative surrounding the poisoning of a prominent Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny.

Germany has responded to past Russian calls for Navalny's medical samples by saying that Russia should already have all it needs after its initial treatment of the dissident. Furthermore, on September 11, Berlin’s Justice Ministry approved a request from Moscow for legal assistance in the investigation and information on Navalny’s state of health, “subject to his consent.

Navalny fell ill during a flight from Siberia to Moscow on the 20th of August. Initially hospitalised in Omsk, at the request of his family he was transferred to Charité hospital in Berlin, where clinical findings indicated that he was poisoned with a substance from the group of cholinesterase inhibitors. Subsequent toxicological tests provided unequivocal evidence of a chemical nerve agent of the Novichok group in the blood samples of Alexei Navalny.

On Monday 14 December Bellingcat, CNN (English), Der Spiegel (German) and The Insider (Russian) and FBK (Russian) published an investigation that revealed the identities of the team that worked on Alexei Navalny assassination attempts and their activities including the study of their phone calls and travel data. This investigation shows that the dosage of the lethal substance was very low and precise and used micro-encapsulation technologies that explain the non-contamination of the plane's passengers.

See related disinformation cases alleging that Germany has no evidence that Navalny was poisoned, the West has an interest in the death of Navalny, that only traces of alcohol and caffeine were found in Navalny's blood, that the West will falsely accuse Russia of poisoning Navalny.
