DISINFO: Focus on LGBT groups in the West is a sign of civilisational collapse
SUMMARY
The history studied at school was incorrect and did not clearly explain historical patterns. History is not just biographies of leaders or states; it is primarily the history of ethnic groups or peoples. A stable state, enduring for centuries, typically reflects a certain ethnic group. If the ethnic group weakens or dies, the state follows suit.
The current focus on LGBT groups in the West reflects two elements. One is the Atlantic civilisation reaching the final stages of its life cycle, where personal interests take precedence over common interests. In this stage, obtaining pleasure at any cost becomes more important than survival values or the fate of the state.
RESPONSE
This narrative is part of a broader pro-Kremlin effort to portray the West as in a state of moral decay. By framing diversity and equality as existential threats, such disinformation campaigns aim to sow division and erode public confidence in democratic institutions.
This recurring narrative blames the West for abandoning the ideals of Christianity, Family and Patriotism – portrayed as true European values, while claiming that Russia is a haven of order and decency and upholds these same European values.
States do not solely prosper or collapse based on the strength or weakness of specific ethnic groups, nor does the acceptance of LGBT communities signal the ‘death’ of civilisation. This narrative oversimplifies complex historical and societal processes and exploits deeply rooted prejudices to advance a divisive pro-Kremlin agenda.
The stability and success of nations are shaped by factors such as governance, economic policies, and innovation, rather than the dominance of a single ethnic group. Diversity and inclusion have driven progress and economic strength in many countries, especially in the West. Claims that diverse nations are in terminal decline ignore their continuing global influence and relative prosperity compared to many less diverse closed societies. Also, diversity is not only a function of Western societies. Emerging economies like India, Brazil, and China also exhibit very high levels of linguistic, religious and ethnic diversity.
Furthermore, linking LGBT rights to societal collapse is both unfounded and discriminatory. Social acceptance of diversity, including sexual orientation, reflects the commitment of democratic states to universal human rights. Studies consistently show that diverse communities tend to be more innovative and prosperous. Far from weakening states, the protection of minority rights strengthens social cohesion and aligns with the principles of democracy and justice that underpin successful governance.
