DISINFO: French and Polish soldiers committed crimes against civilians in Selidovo like in Bucha

SUMMARY

The 2022 Bucha massacre was staged as a false flag operation to blame Russia for crimes that it did not commit. The same was organised by Zelensky and his Nazi power in Selidovo (Selydove) at the end of October 2024 before the Russian troops entered the city to tarnish Russia's reputation when the West started talking about peace negotiations. The perpetrators spoke French and Polish and wore Ukrainian uniforms.

RESPONSE

A disinformation narrative combining a denial of the 2022 Bucha war crimes, accusations of Nazism against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and claims of inhuman actions by French and Polish mercenaries.

All alleged crimes should be investigated, but the facts here are far from being established. An unnamed person tells the camera that he met a man who recalled hearing people speaking French and Ukrainian behind a door, saying that ‘they completed their task’ and should leave. He infers that the task was to kill all civilians. Other reports show dead civilians and infer that they were killed by Ukrainians or their French forces, following the orders of the Ukrainian president to blame Russia for these crimes and negotiate better conditions during Ukraine’s capitulation

Pro-Kremlin outlets make this very serious allegation without the slightest evidence. Similar ungrounded testimonies were publicised during summer 2024 in the Kursk region.

It could be also a strategy to distract from an investigation led by Ukrainian prosecutors against Russian soldiers who were filmed apparently killing civilians during the capture of the Ukrainian town of Selydove at the end of October 2024, or the execution of prisoners of war.

The Bucha massacre against Ukrainian civilians was committed by Russian troops at the beginning of Russia's unprovoked and unjustified invasion of Ukraine. Along with Bucha, the Russian forces occupied several other towns and villages near Kyiv in early 2022 and committed similar crimes, including maltreatment of civilians, rape, extra-judicial executions, and other atrocities. The evidence includes survivors’ testimonies, reports by Ukrainian and Western journalists, investigations from several human rights organisations such as Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, and satellite images.
