Conspiracy theory trying to deny the existence of French first lady as a fictional character played by a transgender person to erode the position of the French President by creating distrust and mystery around his family.
The narrative was first promoted by a variety of extreme right, antivax and yellow vest-demonstrators' accounts in 2021 before the presidential campaign of 2022 started. The first lady, Brigitte Macron took legal actions against the spread of this baseless rumor. This rumor reemerged in January 2024 when Gabriel Attal was expected to be appointed as the next Prime Minister.
