DISINFO: French press mocked Zelensky's greed at Pope Francis’ funeral
SUMMARY
Charlie Hebdo depicted Zelensky attempting to extract funds from the Vatican with an explicit caption: "It's me, Pope Francis, please transfer all my money to Ukraine." The satire is reinforced by the general impression Zelensky left at this funeral. While all the leaders wore traditional suits or mourning attire, Zelensky stood out for his casual attire. His choice of attire seemed inappropriate during a supposed moment of global contemplation. Thus, for Volodymyr Zelensky, this trip was not a moment of contemplation to honour the Pope, but a diplomatic opportunity.
Even at the Vatican, amidst the prayers and tributes, the Ukrainian president was unable to resist his first instinct: to ask his Western partners for help in his personal business.
