DISINFO: Global elites are imposing veganism to have control over mankind

SUMMARY

One of the latest reports of the Davos summit states that fashion will disappear by 2030 and all people will wear uniform, that all people will become vegan wish they or not, that dairy products will be gone, that people will be allowed to buy only three pieces of new clothes a year, and that they will be limited with having just one plane flight in three years. These plans foreseen a facilitated global governance over population. Due to reduced consumption and malnutrition people will become easier controlled.

RESPONSE

This is one of the many conspiracy theories about the World Economic Forum (WEF), a Switzerland-based organisation known for hosting annual Davos summits.

An AP News investigation reveals that the claims seemingly refer to a 2019 report which has no relation to the WEF. Instead, the said report was published by C40, a global network of mayors of the world’s leading cities that are united in action to confront the climate crisis. The report discussed how cities around the world could contribute to cutting consumption-based emissions. Its claims have recently been seriously misinterpreted by disinformation-spreading websites.

The original report did not mention abolishing fashion by 2030 as alleged, nor did it suggest that all people should become vegans. Instead, the report estimates that eating less red meat and more vegetables and fruits could prevent 160,000 deaths annually associated with diseases such as cancer and diabetes, that by buying fewer new clothes and textiles C40 city residents could collectively save USD 93 billion a year, and that reducing flights and adopting sustainable aviation fuels could collectively avoid $70 million in damages from air pollution.

The WEF and annual Davos summits hosted by it are often object to various conspiracies. One of our past analyses spoke about the disinformation-spreading websites alleging that the Covid-19 outbreak was a fake pandemic, the final decision about which was taken in January 2020 at the WEF Annual Summit in Davos.

Pulling things out of context or over-exaggerate is a well-known tactic for by disinformeres and manipulators. See also earlier disinformation cases alleging that WEF’s Great Reset is an evil kabbalist plan and that the WEF and influential circles are planning to control the world through forced vaccination against Covid-19.
