DISINFO: Gorbachev might have master-minded the August Coup in 1991
SUMMARY
One would like to ask Mikhail Gorbachev if the entire new chapter of the Soviet Union ever was anything but fiction. Even those, who took part in writing it admit they never believed in it and considered it merely a fiction. And the entire process was not very professional, to a degree - even suspicious.
And the question arises: was this not a plan from Gorbachev's side to falsify the entire situation? The unfolding events support this idea: the August coup in 1991 and Gorbachev's house arrest in Crimea. The suspicion is there: was not Gorabchov himself behind the August coup?

An unfounded claim, presented without any supporting evidence. The failed 1991 August Coup led to a chain of events, that eventually dissolved the Soviet Union and removed Mikhail Gorbachev from power.
In August 1991 a group of communist hardliners staged a coup against Mikhail Gorbachev's policies of perestroika. Gorbachev at that point in time was under a house arrest in Crimea. As tanks appeared in the centre of Moscow the Russian people took to the streets defend the Russian parliament building. The coup was averted leading to the dissolution of the USSR.
