DISINFO: Hi-tech billionaires want to abolish private property except for the super-rich

SUMMARY

Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos and other high-tech billionaires are acquiring land in the US at an accelerating speed. But at the same time, these billionaires and other members of the globalist élite want to abolish private property except for the super-rich. For example, the globalist Klaus Schwab, founder of the World Economic Forum, joyfully predicts the abolition of private property in the near future.

In the future, the great majority of people will be dependent upon a small number of rich families who will own everything and will have the means to control the masses. In the future, society will resemble feudalism: the high-tech billionaires will be the feudal lords and the masses who use their services will be the serfs. This is already happening in America.

RESPONSE

Conspiracy theory presented without supporting evidence. This article repeats a recurrent broad pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about all-powerful global elites secretly ruling the world and plotting to create a global totalitarian regime which exercises complete control over the masses.

The article contains recurrent disinformation messages about Microsoft founder and philanthropist Bill Gates and is also consistent with a disinformation campaign, conducted by several pro-Kremlin outlets, targeting the World Economic Forum, the organisers of an annual conference for high-profile figures from politics and business.

There is no evidence to support the article’s claim that “globalist élites” aim at abolishing private property for the masses and establishing total control over the latter.

The article hints that Klaus Schwab and the World Economic Forum (WEF) founded by Schwab are key actors in this conspiracy. The WEF is also at the centre of the “Great Reset” conspiracy theory which emerged in the Spring of 2020 and has spread in both mainstream and fringe circles in the US and other Western countries, also amplified by pro-Kremlin outlets.

The conspiracy first surfaced in June 2020 after the World Economic Forum introduced “The Great Reset” initiative, an effort to reduce global inequality and advance environmental initiatives in the wake of the devastation of the coronavirus.

The Great Reset conspiracy theorists argued that this announcement was proof that global elites want to use the coronavirus as a tool to reorganize global societies and economies to their benefit at the expense of ordinary people, with the ultimate goal of establishing a global totalitarian regime. In one version of the theory, this conspiracy imagines that a global elite is using Covid-19 as an opportunity to roll out radical policies such as forced vaccinations, digital ID cards and the renunciation of private property.

The Great Reset conspiracy theory has been analysed and debunked by several scholars and by the BBC.
