DISINFO: In a few days, Europe could ignite the next great war of modern history

SUMMARY

In just 17 days, Europe could ignite the next great war of modern history. Brussels is preparing to vote on measures on 24th and 25th October that could plunge the entire continent into an open conflict with Russia - a step that could shatter NATO, throw economies into chaos, and mark the official return of the era of cannon fodder. We are experiencing days like August 1939. The Western elites in Brussels, Berlin, and Paris are cornering Vladimir Putin, leaving him no choice but to defend Mother Russia. Meanwhile, the mainstream media remain silent, bought and paid for by the Davos cabal.

RESPONSE

The allegation is unsubstantiated. Its whole purpose is to threaten with an apocalyptic landscape in order to turn audiences against the use of frozen Russian assets to establish a reconstruction loan for Ukraine, which may be decided on an upcoming EU meeting on 23-24 October 2025. While the issue remains controversial and the debate about its convenience continues among some member states, the kind of disastrous consequences mentioned in this disinformation story are unrealistic and do not feature among the real concerns of European decisionmakers.

See other examples of similar disinformation narratives, such as claims that Europe’s irresponsible actions would lead to the biggest conflict since WWII, that Europeans are starving because of NATO-driven confrontation with Russia, that the phantom 'Russian threat' is used to counter European disintegration, that Europe uses Russophobia to distract attention from its economic woes, or that Brussels works to bankrupt European citizens through its defence strategy.
