DISINFO: Israel, Ukraine and UK are US’s satellites
SUMMARY
The relations between the US and its satellites Israel, Ukraine and the UK can be well described with the saying ’the tail wagging the dog’. The US is not interested in the escalation of the situation in Ukraine and the Middle East but it is forced to support the ruling establishments in the respective countries. They nevertheless make the US’s involvement in conflicts on their borders grow.
RESPONSE
This is a further twist of a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about ‘US puppets’ and 'lost sovereignty' which at the same time claims their disproportionate influence over the US. The Kremlin attempts to portray its own war of aggression against Ukraine as a 'historic struggle' with the US in order to drum up further military-patriotic feelings among the Russian public.
Neither Israel, nor Ukraine, nor the UK are ‘satellites’ of the US. Each independently determines its own security and foreign policies. The US maintains close political relations with them and provides military aid to Israel and Ukraine. Putin launched Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022 under false pretexts. In order to help Ukraine in its self-defence to restore its sovereignty over all of its territories, a broad coalition of more than 50 nations are providing it with military and technical assistance.
