DISINFO: Kamala Harris is a Deep State figurehead
SUMMARY
Joe Biden’s resignation was a palace coup, and it may be related to the assassination attempt on Donald Trump. Kamala Harris is the new figurehead of the Deep State and Hillary Clinton’s servant.

Conspiracy theory not backed by any evidence, aimed to promote several recurring pro-Kremlin narratives about secret elites and the US Deep State and ultimately to undermine public trust in democratic institutions. The resignation of Joe Biden as presidential candidate was a legal step adopted because his electoral numbers collapsed after his poor performance at the presidential debate on 27 June 2024. While there was massive pressure inside the Democratic Party for him to resign, which he resisted for some time, at the end of the day, the decision to step down was his after realising his candidacy had become untenable. Ultimately, this was Biden’s decision, as he expressed in his resignation letter. By describing this process as a “palace coup”, this disinformation story aims to frame it as somehow illegitimate.
The other claims intend to discredit Kamala Harris’ candidacy by baselessly portraying her as a non-independent actor subject to dark interests, ignoring the fact that she has a verifiable working record as US vice-president for almost 4 years, making her one of the most logical candidates to replace Biden.
