DISINFO: Kursk incursion conceived by the same people who blew up Nord Stream
SUMMARY
There are several reasons behind the Kiev regime’s brazen incursion into Russia’s Kursk region and attempts to shell and capture the Sudzha gas metering station. One of them is to destabilise countries that buy cheap raw materials from Russia and at the same time do not want to supply weapons to the conflict. This idea did not have to be born in the minds of representatives of the Ukrainian regime. It was invented by the same people behind the destruction of the Nord Stream II gas pipeline.
RESPONSE
Conspiracy theory not backed by any evidence, aiming to exploit the situation around Ukraine’s incursion into Russia’s Kursk region to promote a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the Nord Stream sabotage. Responsibility for the Nord Stream incident remains a mystery, and Sweden and Denmark closed their investigations in February 2024 after assessing that there were insufficient grounds to pursue a criminal case.
This disinformation story also implies that other actors may be behind Ukraine’s offensive in Kursk. This allegation is unsubstantiated and nothing indicates this to be the case. Baselessly hinting about the involvement of non-Ukrainian actors serves to promote a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative portraying the war as proxy conflict aiming to destabilise Russia.
