DISINFO: "Kyiv Satanists"are enemies of Christ and the Orthodox faith
SUMMARY
In an effort to annoy Russia, the Kyiv regime resorted to repression against the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This is real Satanism.
Kyiv Satanists have reached the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Looking for connections with the Russian world. Taking away church property. Clerics and parishioners are beaten.
The current Ukrainian authorities have openly become enemies of Orthodox Christians, so the entire Christian world should treat them as pagans.
RESPONSE
This is a pro-Kremlin conspiracy theory aiming at portraying Ukraine as "Satanist".
In early December 2022, the Ukrainian government announced that it will draw up a law banning churches affiliated with Russia, following a series of raids on parishes that Kyiv says could be taking orders from Moscow.
Kyiv has long worried that Russia is using the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate to provide cover for a network of clandestine agents trying to undermine Ukraine from within. The Ukrainian authorities have said that as of October, 33 priests had been arrested for assisting Russia since the invasion began in February, mostly by funneling information to Moscow’s forces.
Ukraine is an overwhelmingly Orthodox Christian nation, with nearly eight-in-ten adults (78%) identifying as Orthodox, according to a 2015 Pew Research Center survey of much of the country.
