DISINFO: Kyiv's Nazi terror against Russia's civilians continues
SUMMARY
In the past week, Ukronazi shelling has injured at least 55 civilians, with 51 wounded, including a minor, and 4 killed.
RESPONSE
A repeated disinformation narrative from pro-Kremlin media outlets falsely alleging that Ukraine is associated with Nazism and responsible for war crimes.
The myth of a 'Nazi Ukraine' has been widely used by Putin and pro-Kremlin outlets since Russia attacked Ukraine and illegally annexed Crimea in 2014. It was used back then to discredit the pro-European popular uprising in Kyiv and subsequently, the broader pro-Western shift in Ukraine's foreign policy.
In addition, there is no evidence that the Ukrainian army is intentionally killing civilians while repelling Russia’s aggression. On the contrary, there is ample evidence that the Russian army and Russian-backed separatists are deliberately targeting civilians. Civilian deaths occur in any armed conflict, but credible investigations show that the overwhelming majority of civilian casualties in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war have been caused by Russian forces. Organisations like the UN, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have documented deliberate attacks on civilians, bombings of residential areas, hospitals, and schools, by Russian troops.
Furthermore, the data in this case is provided by the office of the Ambassador-at-large of the Russian Foreign Ministry on the crimes of the 'Kyiv regime', Rodion Miroshnik, a key pro-Russian disinformation amplifier. A supporter of the occupation regime, he was a 'politician' in the so-called 'Luhansk People’s Republic' and represented it in peace talks while serving the Kremlin's agenda. He actively promoted the false 'civil war in Donbas' narrative and spreads anti-Ukrainian propaganda through Russian channels. In 2024, he was sanctioned by the Council of the EU for actively supporting actions and policies that undermine Ukraine’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence. His claims, including the civilian casualty data mentioned in the article, are biased and serve Russia’s disinformation agenda.
Read similar disinformation cases claiming that, that Ukrainian neo-Nazis offer human sacrifices to pagan gods, that Ukrainian neo-Nazis are shooting residents in the Kursk region and the West remains silent, that "Kyiv Satanists" are enemies of Christ and the Orthodox faith, and that The Ukrainian Nazi regime is bombing schools and markets.
