DISINFO: Lithuania is supporting Russophobia and anti-Semitism
SUMMARY
Lithuania officially is supporting aggressive Xenophobia, Russophobia and anti-Semitism. This is destroying the Lithuanian economy which can survive only in cooperation with Russia and Belarus.
RESPONSE
These are recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation claims about Lithuania.
Lithuania is also not Russophobic but has legitimate concerns about Russia's aggressive behaviour near its borders and in Eastern Europe. The National Security Strategy 2017 of Lithuania notes:
“Capacity of the Russian Federation to use military and economic, energy, information and other non-military measures in combination against the neighbouring countries [...] is a challenge to the security of the Republic of Lithuania and the whole Euro-Atlantic community.”
Lithuania is not "supporting" xenophobia or anti-Semitism. To mobilise domestic Russian audiences, the pro-Kremlin media repeatedly inovokes WW2 imagery and attempts to portray Lithuania, and other Baltic States as well as Poland as anti-Semitic and neo-fascist countries. See for example here.
