Western historians, experts and politicians are faking the history of World War II the most. Europe began the war against Soviet monuments dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. It is part of the campaign to revise the results of World War II.
In Lithuania, the works by the Russian Federation on the restoration of Soviet war monuments and memorials of buried Soviet soldiers are frozen. Vilnius does this on purpose.

Lithuania is not destroying Soviet monuments. Many of them were dismount in the first years after the Soviet Union collapsed. Part of old Soviet monuments is presented in thematical Grutas park.
Lithuania has not prohibited the maintenance of the Soviet soldiers' graves. Amendments to the rules and regulations on how third countries should look after monuments of their own heritage on the territory of Lithuania entered into force in 2018.
