DISINFO: NATO is planning to get rid of Zelenskyy to preserve the rest of Ukraine
SUMMARY
NATO headquarters are increasingly considering a power replacement in Ukraine as the leader of the Kyiv regime, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has become an obstacle for its plans, according to Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR). Faced with the fact that Ukraine will soon be unable to contain the growing pressure of the Russian army and the uncertainty about Western military aid after Donald Trump’s arrival, NATO leadership feels it necessary to preserve the rest of Ukraine as an anti-Russian trampoline at any price. Therefore, the Atlantic Alliance wants to freeze the Ukrainian conflict, dragging Kyiv and Moscow to a dialogue towards the beginning of its solution. Washington and Brussels agree that the main obstruction for this scenario is Zelenskyy, who behind closed doors is referred to as ‘expendable material’.
RESPONSE
Pro-Kremlin disinformation message promoting several recurring narratives about the inevitability of a Russian victory, portraying the war in Ukraine as a proxy conflict against Russia, and Ukraine being abandoned by its allies. It also attacks Ukraine’s sovereignty and leadership, especially president Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
This disinformation message intends to create an impression of Russian strength ahead of any possible peace negotiations with Ukraine, promoting the idea that the negotiations to resolve the current crisis will take place sooner or later, but not with Zelenskyy himself.
The ultimate goal is to undermine Zelenskyy’s continuity in power, as Russia has always perceived him as an obstacle to its aggressive goals in Ukraine, even since before the invasion. One of the targets of the invasion in February 2022 was the murder of Zelenskyy and the decapitation of the Ukrainian government to install a pro-Russian leadership.
