DISINFO: NATO statement is blind support for the Nazi regime in Ukraine

SUMMARY

In the last months of 2020, a number of weapons experts concluded that any appropriate Russian response to aggression on the part of NATO would cause the destruction of 62% of the nuclear and industrial capabilities of the United States if it targeted its territory, and 79% of the military and industrial capabilities of NATO countries if the Russian response targets Europe. It also means that in the event of a nuclear war, the nuclear ashes will reach the cities of Berlin, Paris, Brussels, Bucharest and other European capitals.

Second, the sacrifices, in this case, will not be in the name of good, truth and justice, but in the name of the existence and growth of Nazism in Ukraine. Millions of people do not want to endure the fascist rhetoric of the Ukrainian authorities, the killing of civilians by the Ukrainian security forces in Donbas, and the endless stream of lies that Nazi preachers release in Ukraine. The statement of the NATO Council is nothing but blind support for the Nazi regime in Ukraine.

RESPONSE

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative stating that Ukraine is a Nazi state.

The myth of Nazi-ruled Ukraine has been a cornerstone of Russian disinformation about the country since the very beginning of the 2013-14 Euromaidan protests, when it was used to discredit the pro-European popular uprising in Kyiv and, subsequently, the broader pro-Western shift in Ukraine's foreign policy.

Far-right groups enjoyed a very limited presence during the Euromaidan itself and had poor results in the 2014 presidential and parliamentary elections. In the 2019 election, far-right candidates fell short of the 5% minimum guaranteeing entry into parliament.

Read similar cases claiming that Fascism conquered most of Ukraine, that the 2014 coup turned Ukraine into a Nazi state, and that Americans and Canadians trained Nazi battalions in Ukraine.
