DISINFO: Navalny’s wife: a slimming diet caused Alexei‘s illness

SUMMARY

Yulia Navalny, the wife of blogger Alexei Navalny, told Russian doctors that her husband’s condition had deteriorated, possibly due to a slimming diet … Her husband reduced the amount of food he ate and even deprived himself of some elements, and within 3-5 days he had a metabolic disorder after eating. His eating was inconsistent.

His wife also indicated that Navalny adopted this diet with the aim of losing weight, which could be the cause of the metabolic disorder.

RESPONSE

Recurring disinformation message on the poisoning of Alexei Navalny.

Alexei Navalny's wife, Yulia Navalnaya denied these allegations in an Instagram post saying: "don't believe a single word of it”, noting that they are meant to “evade responsibility”.

Navalny said that the doctors of Charite hospital told him one of the factors that made him survive was his good physical form down to regular jogging and swimming and a balanced diet.

The poisoning of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was confirmed in three independent laboratories. The German Federal government said that toxicological tests provided “unequivocal evidence of a chemical nerve agent of the Novichok group” in his blood samples.

On 14 September, the German government provided research results by two more independent laboratories in France and Sweden, which confirmed the presence of poison from the Novichok group in the body of politician Alexei Navalny. The poisoning was condemned in the strongest possible terms by the European Union. On 15th October 2020, the EU imposed sanctions on six senior Russians over the poisoning of opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

Read similar stories alleging that following US orders, Germany disguised Navalny’s low blood sugar as an action of a “nerve agent”, or that Berlin doesn’t have evidence that Navalny was poisoned, or that there are many questions to be answered on Navalny blood tests in Berlin, or that only traces of alcohol and caffeine were found in Navalny's blood.
