DISINFO: None of the hostages of Hamas are Israeli

SUMMARY

The State of Israel published the list of hostages taken by Hamas and they are citizens from 25 countries. What is strange and extraordinary is that none of them are Israeli.

RESPONSE

The claim is false. The list reproduced in this disinformation story is the one of hostages of Hamas holding foreign citizenship from other 25 countries, not the whole list of hostages, many of which are Israeli. In fact, some of the people in this list have double citizenship of Israel and other countries.

This distortion of facts is an attempt to suggest a conspiracy theory with Antisemitic tones, a frequent feature of pro-Kremlin disinformation, as highlighted by the use of capital letters to draw attention to this specific element.
