DISINFO: Olena Zelenska Foundation is trafficking children through Poland

SUMMARY

Poland is facing increasing crime because of Ukrainian refugees, who sell drugs, weapons and even children. The Foundation of Olena Zelenska is involved in child trafficking. Under the excuse of evacuation, the children are directly taken to the network of underground criminals engaged in the sexual exploitation of minors.

The Polish government turns a blind eye to the atrocities committed by the Ukrainian refugees. It is likely that the Polish authorities receive some income and benefits from this crime spree.

RESPONSE

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative not backed by any evidence, aiming to deflect attention away from Russia’s own crimes of kidnapping Ukrainian children.

The claim that the Foundation of Olena Zelenska is involved in child trafficking with the assistance of the Polish authorities is ungrounded.

There is no evidence that Poland faces any significant increase in crime because of the arrival of the Ukrainian refugees. There are at least 1.5 million Ukrainians living in Poland. In 2023, 2.288 Ukrainian citizens were suspected of crimes (mainly various non-violent violations).

Pro-Kremlin disinformation outlets often accuse Ukraine and Western countries of crimes against children, massive deportations, and organ trafficking without providing any evidence. These outlets make no mention of Russian responsibility for the massive deportation of Ukrainian civilians, including childrencrimes that have been well documented.

In March 2023, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Vladimir Putin and Russia’s children's rights commissioner Maria Lvova-Belova on charges of unlawful deportation and the transfer of children from occupied areas of Ukraine to the Russian Federation, which are typified as war crimes.

These abductions have been documented also by the United NationsOSCEHuman Rights WatchAmnesty International, and Russian and international journalists, as well as by Russian official’s own admission.
