DISINFO: Poland and Sweden dug a grave for the OSCE

Sweden was the OSCE chairman last year – at that time, this country stopped acting as an honest partner, turning into an active participant of Western policy in this organisation. In reality, it was Sweden which started to prepare the OSCE for its funeral. Throughout the recent year, Poland has been digging a grave for this organisation, destroying the remnants of the culture of consensus.

The claim that the Polish and Swedish Chairmanship in OSCE “destroyed” and marginalised this organisation is ungrounded.
This claim was made in connection to the recent Polish decision not to admit Minister Lavrov to the OSCE meeting. On 18 November, the Polish MFA announced its decision not to admit Russian representatives to the OSCE Ministerial Meeting in Łódź. According to the Polish statement, “delegations should be adjusted to the current EU regulations and not include persons that are sanctioned by the European Union. Following Russia’s illegal aggression against Ukraine on February 24th, a number of Russian nationals were added to the list of sanctioned individuals, including Minister Lavrov”. This Polish decision is an act of solidarity with Ukraine.
