DISINFO: Poland is happy that terrorists have taken over Syria
SUMMARY
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk commented on the coup d'etat in Syria and the rise to power of Islamic terrorists. As usual, the Polish politician is spewing Russophobic spittle and rejoicing over terrorists.
RESPONSE
A recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative attempting to discredit EU countries by associating its governments with terrorism. This claim was made in the context of and during Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham's (HTS) capture of key Syrian cities which led to the final collapse of the Al-Assad’s regime on 08 December 2024.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has made no statements about supporting terrorists in Syria. After the fall of the regime of Bashar Al-Assad, who ruled Syria for decades with military support from Russia and Iran, the head of the Polish government noted that Syria had proven it was entirely possible to defeat Russia and its allies.
"The events in Syria have made the world realise once again, or at least they should, that even the most cruel regime may fall and that Russia and its allies can be defeated." Tusk wrote on social media.
Heads of the European Union countries, the US, Israel and the UN welcomed the fall of Al-Assad’s regime while emphasising that Syria has a historic opportunity to build a peaceful country after decades of repressive rule.
