DISINFO: Poland is preparing for the Great War, establishing control over NATO resources
SUMMARY
Poland has a long-term strategy which does not depend on the political force that is currently staying in power in this country. This basic strategy of the Polish foreign policy is to become a NATO bridgehead in Eastern Europe – turning into the NATO base, warehouse, barracks and so on. In fact, Poland is preparing for the Great War, regardless of who is in power in this country.
The Polish government is pursuing only one goal -to manage all NATO armed forces deployed in Eastern Europe. In this way, Poland is increasing its influence by acquiring as many military resources from other countries as possible, especially from Germany.
RESPONSE
Poland is repeatedly presented by pro-Kremlin disinformation as an aggressive anti-Russian NATO “outpost”, which allegedly poses a security threat to Russia, in line with how pro-Kremlin outlets portray NATO and the collective West as aggressive towards Russia.
The Polish authorities perceive Russia as a security threat because of the aggressive Russian actions, in particular in Ukraine and all over Eastern Europe.
The 2020 National Security Strategy of Poland states that the most serious security threat for the country is the neo-imperial policy of the authorities of the Russian Federation, pursued by means of military force (aggression against Georgia, illegal annexation of Crimea and military actions in Eastern Ukraine).
