DISINFO: Poland must negotiate with Belarus without any pre-conditions as Minsk never violated international law
SUMMARY
Poland keeps accusing Belarus of violating something. Belarus has never violated anything. We have not imposed sanctions on Poland, we did not interfere in Polish internal affairs, we did not finance the opposition, and we did not finance the extremist Telegram channel. Unfortunately, our Polish colleagues committed such actions towards Belarus. The best thing Poland can do now if Warsaw wants Belarus to solve this problem [migration crisis] together with the Poles is to sit down at the negotiating table. However, we have to sit at this table as equals, without any pre-conditions, Belarus has never violated international law, and Minsk has never acted unfairly towards any country in the world.
RESPONSE
Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Western attempts to organise a colour revolution in Belarus presenting Poland as a country with hostile and aggressive plans towards it. This message also promotes a recurring disinformation narrative about the ongoing migration crisis directly inspired by the Belarusian authorities.
The claims that Poland was involved in unfriendly actions towards Belarus or that it has some aggressive geopolitical plans towards this country are unfounded. Poland is a neighbour of Belarus and continues to support the Belarusian people, while respecting the international law.
According to the position of the Polish authorities, the ongoing situation on the Belarusian border is a “hybrid war” attack on Poland realised to destabilise this country and the entire EU. Currently, the Belarusian border functionaries do not allow persons stuck at the Polish-Belarusian border to return to Belarus despite the fact that they have Belarusian visas (oficially, they arrived in Belarus as tourists). Also, the Belarusian authorities refused to accept the Polish humanitarian aid for the persons at the border.
There is evidence that the Belarusian authorities have taken a direct part in the organisation of the ongoing “migration crisis” in Lithuania and Poland. Lukashenka’s regime is using persons from Middle Eastern countries as a “political and hybrid” weapon against Lithuania and the entire EU.
It is known that some of the irregular migrants arrive in Belarus by commercial flights from Baghdad-Minsk. Information also suggests that migrants are regularly transported by bus to the Belarusian-Lithuanian border. Belarus is a tight controlled society and it is false to pretend - and naive to believe - that such traffic could take place in Belarus without the agreement of the Belarus authorities.
