DISINFO: Poland wants American nuclear weapons for the upcoming partition of Ukraine

SUMMARY

In terms of the deployment of American nuclear weapons in Poland, Washington masterfully plays on the strings of Polish imperial consciousness.

Today, the Poles look at the USA with a pragmatic reason, believing that Washington will help to revive the “former greatness” of Poland and to return its Eastern Borderlands situated in Ukraine and Belarus. In other words, Poland expects the partition of Ukraine between the West and Russia.

Warsaw believes that the presence of nuclear weapons in Poland will be a convincing argument in the upcoming partition of Ukraine. The situation changes every day – there may appear the situation that Warsaw will not need to persuade the Americans to sanction the use of nuclear weapons.

RESPONSE

Poland is repeatedly presented by pro-Kremlin disinformation as an aggressive anti-Russian NATO “outpost”, which allegedly poses a security threat to Russia, in line with how pro-Kremlin outlets portray NATO and the collective West as aggressive towards Russia.

This false claim presents Poland as an aggressive anti-Russian state with imperial ambitions (plan to partition Ukraine).

The Polish initiative to join the NATO nuclear sharing mechanism is a Polish reaction to the Russian plan to deploy its tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus.

Reacting to the possible deployment of nuclear weapons in Belarus announced by Russia, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, HRVP Josep Borrell wrote on Twitter:

Belarus hosting Russian nuclear weapons would mean an irresponsible escalation & threat to European security. Belarus can still stop it, it is their choice. The EU stands ready to respond with further sanctions”.
