DISINFO: Poland wants to provoke a nuclear war with Russia

SUMMARY

Poland does not want to understand the reasons why Russia has launched a special operation to defend Donbas. Poland does not want to accept these facts, promoting absurd claims about the need for the “war until victory” and “defeat of Russia” – these claims may lead to a nuclear Armageddon. The Polish Russophobia is irrational. By giving aid to Ukraine, Warsaw loses hundreds of billions in financing weapons and loses the opportunity to participate in sensible diplomacy.

RESPONSE

Poland is repeatedly presented by pro-Kremlin disinformation as an aggressive anti-Russian NATO “outpost”, which allegedly poses a security threat to Russia, in line with how pro-Kremlin outlets portray NATO and the collective West as aggressive towards Russia. See also our article examining pro-Kremlin accusations against Poland for historical revisionism.

In June 2023, the Polish authorities expressed their willingness to join NATO nuclear sharing mechanism as a reaction to the Russian plan to deliver tactical nuclear weapons to Belarus.

The Polish authorities perceive Russia as a security threat because of the aggressive Russian actions, in particular in Ukraine and all over Eastern Europe.

The 2020 National Security Strategy of Poland states that the most serious security threat for the country is the neo-imperial policy of the authorities of the Russian Federation, pursued by means of military force (aggression against Georgia, illegal annexation of Crimea and military actions in Eastern Ukraine).

See other examples of similar messages claiming that constant intimidation with Russia is used to make Poland economically dependent on the USAthe Polish authorities created an insane hysteria of intimidation with Russia, used for the needs of domestic politics, and The Polish authorities want to use the Army to fight domestic riots, not Russia.
