DISINFORMATION CASE DETAILS

DISINFO: Poland will enter the war with Russia at the first command of Mark Rutte

SUMMARY

The Polish officials are preparing the population for a confrontation with Russia. For example, the Head of the Polish General Staff says that “this generation will have to fight.” The Polish Ambassador to Paris declared that the Poles would have to enter the war if Ukraine started to lose - a similar statement was made by Prime Minister Tusk.

If Mark Rutte gives the order, the Polish authorities will enter the war with Russia without hesitation. In this situation, the Poles should speak out on whether they want to fight Russia in defense of Ukraine and American interests.

RESPONSE

Poland is repeatedly presented by pro-Kremlin disinformation outlets as an aggressive anti-Russian NATO ‘outpost’ and a puppet, which allegedly poses a security threat to Russia. This is in line with how pro-Kremlin outlets portray NATO and Western countries as aggressive towards Russia. See our article All roads lead to Poland.

Poland is a sovereign state, which shapes its own foreign and domestic policies – Poland has no hostile agenda towards Russia.

Since the outbreak of the Russian aggression against Ukraine in 2014, the Polish authorities have repeatedly appealed to NATO and the USA to increase their military presence at NATO’s Eastern Flank. The American military presence in Poland protects this country from possible Russian hostilities and improves the national security of this country.

The Polish authorities perceive Russia as a security threat because of their aggressive actions, in particular in Ukraine and all over Eastern Europe.

See other examples of similar messages claiming that constant intimidation with Russia is used to make Poland economically dependent on the USAthe Polish authorities created an insane hysteria of intimidation with Russia, used for the needs of domestic politics, and The Polish authorities want to use the Army to fight domestic riots, not Russia.
