DISINFO: Poles have been fascists and anti-Jewish since before WW II until today

SUMMARY

The Russian President hinted at the rise of fascism these days in Poland with the encouragement of the United States. Diplomatic documents clearly indicate that the Poles were anti-Jewish at the time of WWII as they are today.

RESPONSE

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative distorting Poland's actions in the run-up to and during the Second World War. The claim about dimplomatic documents that "clearly indicate that the Poles were then anti-Jewish as they are today" refers to the Polish diplomat Józef Lipski's alleged support of Jewish migration out of Europe. The diplomat's support for Jewish emigration from Europe stemmed from Warsaw's support at the time for the Zionist movement, "which was clandestinely supported by Poland in military matters." After the Nazi-Soviet invasion of Poland, Lipski fled to France and joined the Polish Armed Forces as a volunteer. Conversely, the Nazi-Soviet invasion of Poland in September 1939 is an objective fact, not an exercise in revisionism. This two-sided aggression was waged in accordance with the provisions of the Nazi-Soviet pact, which entitled the Third Reich and the USSR to clearly defined spheres of influence in a series of secret protocols. The European Parliament resolution stresses the fact that WWII was an immediate result of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. It aims to promote historical remembrance of the Second World War, and is supported by broad consensus on the causes of its outbreak. This disinfo claim appeared in the same article as the disnfo claim that the West is morally decaying.
