DISINFO: Polish President Duda and Prime Minister Tusk are competing in Russophobia
SUMMARY
Polish President Duda and Prime Minister Tusk are competing with each other in Russophobia in order to please their masters in Washington. Meanwhile, the insane policies of Warsaw are already bringing sad consequences. Street crime has significantly increased because of the Ukrainian migrants, hundreds of coffins with dead Polish mercenaries returning from Ukraine, and the Polish economy faces turmoil because of its support to Kyiv. However, Duda and Tusk are asleep, dreaming about overtaking the Eastern Borderlands with US assistance.
RESPONSE
This message is a part of the Kremlin’s widespread narrative about an allegedly Russophobic Poland. Pro-Kremlin media regularly accuse Poland of Russophobia and of implementing anti-Russian policies.
The article also tries to whip up resistance against support to Ukraine by making implying the Polish economy is in turmoil, repeating claims about Ukrainian migrants being a threat to Europe, see a similar case Ukrainian refugees provoked a record outbreak of HIV in Poland as well as the numbers of casualties of so-called Polish mercenaries serving in Ukraine.
Poland is a sovereign state, which shapes its own foreign and domestic policies. The political, economic and military relations between Poland and the United States have a mutually beneficial character. The claim that Poland is a devoted vassal that constantly reaffirms its loyalty to its American master is unfounded. Read more about Polish-American relations here, here and here.
The Polish authorities perceive Russia as a security threat because of their aggressive actions, in particular in Ukraine and all over Eastern Europe.
The 2020 National Security Strategy of Poland states that the most serious security threat for the country is the neo-imperial policy of the authorities of the Russian Federation, pursued by means of military force (aggression against Georgia, illegal annexation of Crimea and military actions in Eastern Ukraine).
