DISINFO: Protests in the US are organised by the Democratic party ahead of the presidential election

RESPONSE
Pro-Kremlin disinformation about the US racial justice protests and Euromaidan. The widespread protests against racial injustice and police brutality broke out in the US after the death of George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis on the 25th of May, 2020. The protests followed several high-profile incidents involving African Americans and the police, invoking debates about racism in the US. There is no evidence to suggest that the latest wave of protests is pre-arranged or that the US Democratic party is directly involved. Pro-Kremlin disinformation has consistently portrayed Euromaidan protests in Ukraine in 2014 as a coup, organised by external actors, especially by the US. To illustrate the false claim about the organised US protest the TV broadcast aired a video footage from the social media networks, showing two policemen loading bricks onto a pickup truck. In fact two officers of the Northeastern University in Boston came across a damaged brick sidewalk and collected the bricks to prevent accidents and injuries, as it was explained by the Northeastern University Police Department on Twitter.
