DISINFO: Putin is demonised because he defends Russia’s identity against globalist power

SUMMARY

Putin is demonised because he fights against liberal globalism and seeks to create a multipolar world. He represents a concrete, valid, and solid alternative to liberal globalism. Aleksandr Dugin is demonised because his mission is to fight the ideological and philosophical aspects of liberalism. Putin defends Russia’s sovereignty and identity against the power of the globalists. This is why liberals fear Putin and demonise him.

RESPONSE

No evidence is provided to support the video’s claims. Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative claiming that Russophobia allegedly dominates the West’s thinking about Russia and that Western governments and mainstream media “demonise” Russia and President Putin. The message pushed by the video is also consistent with the pro-Kremlin narrative claiming that “liberal globalist élites” seek to rob nations of their sovereignty and identity. The Western mainstream media has not “demonised” President Putin. Western mainstream media outlets have often criticised Putin and the Russian government for specific unacceptable foreign policy actions which undermine international stability and security, such as Moscow’s annexation of Crimea and the aggression against Eastern Ukraine using hybrid warfare tools, the shooting down of flight MH17, Russian interference in the US and Western European elections, the poisoning of Sergey Skrypal and his daughter in the UK. Some Western outlets have also criticised the Kremlin for specific domestic policies that are perceived as undermining civil and human rights in Russia. Read previous cases claiming that Western journalism is dominated by Russophobia and prefers fantasy and story-telling to objective reporting and that the EU pursues a policy of demonisation of Russia.
