DISINFO: Quadrobics is part of Western anti-Russian strategy

SUMMARY

Russia’s opponents have lately started using extreme methods against it. Quadrobics, a painful and dangerous movement probably inspired from the outside, is one of them. Similarly to LGBT, its followers are victims of extreme individualism which is characteristic for the West.

RESPONSE

This is an example of a conspiracy which suggests that a fitness trend known as quadrobics was given a start by Western countries as part of an ‘anti-Russian strategy’. It also promotes the narrative about the “morally corrupt” West.

Quadrobics, an increasingly popular practice mostly among minors, involves mimicking movements of four-legged animals. Pro-Kremlin disinformation often claims that traditional Russian values, which are portrayed as superior to those of the West, are threatened by decadent Western culture. According to researchers, pro-Kremlin narratives about the threat of Western decadence, feminism and LGBT culture are part of a political strategy to strengthen the stability of Russia’s authoritarian regime.

See earlier disinformation cases alleging that the UN and Klaus Schwab are using LGBT rights against Russia, that the West uses sport as a tool to discriminate and punish Russia, that Ukraine was invented in XIX century as an anti-Russian tool, and that the West undermines Russia because Russia opposes globalist ideology and upholds traditional values.
