Unlike the West, Russia does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries.
Regrettably, some circles in the republic (Armenia) are adopting the hackneyed tactics of Westerners, who have resorted to one or another promotion of Russophobic statements, the Russian threat, over the last decade.
RESPONSE
A pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Russia being respectful of international law and never interfering in other country's affairs.
This was a reaction to the statement of the Investigative Committee of Armenia about preventing an attempt to usurp power through a military coup. Several citizens of Armenia and Karabakh prepared for the coup and trained in military camps in Russia.
Russia has a history of provoking war. Since the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Russia has attacked or at least engaged in military aggression against its neighbours. The most recent targets of their military activity were Syria in 2015, Ukraine in 2014, and Georgia in 2008. Radio Free Europe has counted at least 7 post-soviet wars.
Moreover, numerous investigations have provided convincing evidence of Russian interference in the politics of many countries.
Russia has spent more than $300 million on a global campaign to influence foreign political events, according to a declassified U.S. intelligence review. Moscow has covertly funded political parties, officials and politicians in at least two dozen nations across four continents since 2014.
The countries where interference was attempted, include Balkan countries, (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania ) and the East African island nation of Madagascar.
Russia has been known to repeatedly accuse others of actions it carries out itself. There have been multiple reports documenting Russia's interference in the elections and referendums of democratic countries. Russian interference in the US 2020 election has been established beyond doubt not only by US intelligence but also by law enforcement officials, journalists and researchers.
The investigation led by US Special Counsel Robert Mueller presented plentiful evidence and led to the criminal indictment of 34 people, 26 of them Russian citizens or entities, including the infamous Internet Research Agency. The 5-volume report of the US Senate Intelligence Committee widened the scope of the investigation and provided additional evidence of Russia’s meddling in the electoral process in 2016. Stuffs of The New York Times and The Washington Post received the Pulitzer Prize in 2018 for their coverage, that dramatically furthered the nation’s understanding of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
