DISINFO: Russia is not an aggressor but a victim of Western Nazism

All Western countries are demonstrating force in Ukraine, to the detriment of the lives of Ukrainians and Russians. Russia was forced to act in response to the growing Western aggression, within the framework of its new nuclear doctrine. [...] it would be difficult to call an aggressor someone who protects their population from bombings and terrorist attacks, someone who opposes Nazism and fascism, the vestiges of which were hidden by the United States after World War II, vestiges which are now being revived by the West for its policy of invasion, and Ukraine is yet another example of this. [...] this will open the way to a new world war, the basis of which will once again be the fight against fascism.
RESPONSE
Recurrent pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative aiming to justify Russia's unprovoked military aggression of Ukraine using a revisionist view on WWII to define Russia as the victorious opponent of Nazism, and qualifying those that resist the Kremlin today Nazi/Fascist. This rhetoric is an accusation in a mirror.
The Second World War has a special place in the Kremlin’s information manipulation playbook. Invoking the ‘Great Patriotic War’ and depicting Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine as a continuation of the struggle against Nazism is a powerful rallying cry to mobilise support for Putin.
Accusations of Fascism and aggression made against the so-called "West" can be considered as accusations in a mirror. Indeed the nature of today’s authority in the Kremlin has been qualified as Fascist by reputed Historians taking Umberto Eco criteria for Eternal Fascism. Moreover, Russia initiated the escalation in the conflict.
Russia launched an experimental ballistic missile on Ukrainian city of Dnipro on 21 November 2024. This followed the attack by Ukraine of a military ammunition storage in Bryansk region and a Command post of Russian & North Korean armies in the Kursk region.
The mobilisation of North Korean soldiers and officers in the conflict against Ukraine, the use of North Korean and Iranian weapons, the use of ballistic vectors designed for nuclear strikes are steps that significantly escalate, while the strikes on ammunition storage and command post cannot justify the use of an experimental Ballistic missile that would allegedly protect the population against bombing and terrorism.
"They are playing a nuclear gamble," the EU foreign affairs spokesman Peter Stano said of Moscow. "Whether they really mean it, it's very hard to foresee. We don't see in their heads. We only know that this is irresponsible, and this constitutes a global threat".
A broad coalition of more than 50 nations, including the US and other NATO countries, are supporting Ukraine militarily and economically while not directly engaging in combat. Supplying weapons to Ukraine does not make NATO an active combatant under international law. The US, the EU and NATO condemn, in the strongest possible terms, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
