DISINFO: Russia poses no security threat to Europe
SUMMARY
Emmanuel Macron wants to develop the army and advocates for EU rearmament, he argues there is a Russian threat, but[...] Russia poses no security threat to Europe. According to Macron, Russia breached Minsk agreements. Yet, Merkel and Hollande confessed that the Minsk agreements were a scam against Putin to gain time in Ukraine.
Russia is a threat not for Europe, but for the Globalist elites. Russia doesn’t want war but peace, while globalist elites prepared the war since 2014. NATO started the war in Ukraine and is still waging it against Russia.
RESPONSE
Pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative involving globalist elites and NATO allegedly at war against Russia, falsely portrayed as a peacemaking power.
The narrative that Merkel, Hollande and Poroshenko admitted that the Minsk agreements were signed to trick Russia is also false and against to their declarations in the quoted interviews. It has been previously debunked in this database.
The claim that NATO either initiated or is currently waging a war against Russia is frequently used to justify Russia's aggression toward Ukraine or to explain the failure of its so-called 'special military operation.' However, this narrative is not supported by facts.
Ukraine is a sovereign and independent state with a democratically elected president and parliament. The country's sovereignty has been violated only as a result of continuous acts of aggression by the Russian armed forces since 2014, culminating with a full-scale military invasion of Ukraine starting on 24 February 2022.
Ukraine is defending itself, its territorial integrity, national self-identity, and sovereignty against Russia's armed aggression, and not on behalf of any other power. The decision to defend itself was made solely by Ukraine, its lawful leaders and government, and its citizens.
Russia is the only country responsible for the invasion of Ukraine. It has been coming up with manipulative explanations and false pretexts for its aggression since the beginning of its hostilities. It was Putin’s personal decision to invade Ukraine and start the largest military conflict in Europe since WWII. Russia has occupied internationally recognised Ukrainian territories, constantly attacking critical infrastructure, and killing civilians.
